I took my heavy shears and cut the lip off the sides of two of them so the
sides were straight up. Then I put them side by side in my kitchen utensil
drawer. All my small items go in the tubs and larger item go behind. No more
digging around for the potato peeler, pastry brush or apple corer.
I have a small tub on my sewing table to collect all the tiny threads that
are cut off.
At my last yard sale, I lined a few of the large tubs up on the table and
filled them with the small toys my son was getting rid of. That kept the
little kids from digging through a large box and scattering the toys all
over the ground.
I keep several sizes handy in the kitchen. When I take a piece of meat out
of the freezer to thaw, I put it in a tub before setting it in the
refrigerator. This keeps the condensation and any blood that might escape
from getting on the refrigerator shelf.
I take a large tub outside with me when I pull weeds in the garden. It is
light enough to drag around with me, and hold lots of small weeds.
We have an outside cat that comes in every morning for a nibble of kibble. I
put one of the small tubs out for his food and one for his water. They are
easily washed or replaced as needed.
My husband uses all sizes of the tubs in his shop to hold various small
tools, nuts, bolts etc. They line up nicely on his table or on his shelves
and are easy to pick up and move from place to place.
When my husband is working on a vehicle, we take a tub and set it near where
he is working. Every part he takes off goes into the tub which means he is
never looking for where he sat something down, or where it rolled off to. |
